Position Overview:
Docs Town is seeking a Programming Officer to develop and deliver engaging heritage programs aimed at children, youth, and seniors. This role includes preparing program materials, leading tours, organizing day camps, and offering virtual programming. You will also be responsible for program promotion, documentation, and evaluation, as well as overseeing volunteers and maintaining the security and cleanliness of the heritage buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and deliver interactive heritage programs.
-Prepare program materials and activity plans.
-Lead school and public tours.
-Organize and execute youth day camps.
-Promote programs through virtual platforms (social media, website, etc.).
-Evaluate program success and engage with participants for feedback.
-Supervise and schedule volunteers.
-Ensure the general maintenance and security of exhibits and buildings. Qualifications:
-Minimum of two years of post-secondary education in Education, History, or a related field.
-Must have been a full-time student in Spring 2025 and be enrolled in full -time studies for Fall 2025.
-Previous experience in cultural programming or working with the public is preferred.
-Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
-Maturity, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.
-Fluent in written and spoken English.
-Indigenous students are encouraged to apply.
Additional Qualifications: Experience developing educational programs for diverse audiences. Familiarity with digital media for program promotion. Knowledge of southwest Saskatchewan's history is an asset. Ability to collaborate with committee members, volunteers, and partners. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
