Description

About the Role: This role will be key in maintaining and preparing Doc's Town exhibits for in-person and virtual tours, while ensuring the general upkeep of our historic buildings. The position also involves promoting and overseeing public engagement with our existing programs, as well as developing new programs for local and regional participants.
Key Responsibilities:
-Maintain and prepare exhibits for tours and general display.
-Assist in the promotion and delivery of existing programs such as group and school tours, day camps for kids, heritage crafting, old
-time music jam sessions, blacksmithing demonstrations, and vintage vehicle and machinery displays.
-Develop new programs targeted at community members and tourists, supporting regional and local tourism development.
-Advertise programs using various media platforms, prepare necessary support materials, and ensure the smooth delivery and documentation of all programs.
-Engage participants and program leaders as part of program evaluations.
-Open and close buildings during public viewing hours, ensuring the cleanliness, security, and proper operation of the exhibits.
-Work with experienced committee members and volunteers to support daily operations, ensuring a seven day-a-week schedule.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Interest in history, heritage, and tourism
Experience with program promotion and marketing, including social media
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enthusiasm for engaging with the public, especially children and school groups
Ability to follow safety and security protocols
