Mihkoskiwakk Nhiyawak Education Authority is seeking a Director of Finance to join our leadership team.
Position: Director of Finance
Location: Red Earth Cree Nation, approx. 1 hour east of Nipawin, Saskatchewan
Type: Full-Time
Education: A relevant mix of education (Degree in Commerce/Business Administration/Accounting Management) with consideration to accounting and management experience with proven competence and skill.
Experience and Required skills: A minimum of two years working in or with a First Nation community in a finance or external auditor capacity.
Competencies: Advanced MS office skills Excel, Word, Power Point with a strong working knowledge of Financial & Management Accounting is required.
working knowledge of accounting system (Sage Intacct) and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and function in a fast-paced environment.

At Mihkosikiwakak Nehiyawak Education Authority (MNEA) the Director of Finance will take a lead role within the finance and administration capacity of the MNEA, by supporting the MNEA Board and the Director of Education by providing senior level expertise in developing, monitoring and implementing education budgets, and fiscal management of education funding. The MNEA Finance Director will work the RECN Director of Operations and RECN Finance Director, to assist in the development of financial policies that align with MNEA and the Red Earth Cree Nation goals. This is key role in MNEA envisioning strong growth, capacity development, and leadership in education.
