Description

We are seeking a real estate legal assistant to join our team. An ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment where the ability to meet deadlines is imperative. Previous experience is strongly preferred. To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

-Excellent communication, writing, spelling, grammar & proof-reading skills
-High attention to accuracy & detail
-Advanced computer skills & proficiency in Adobe & MS Office products (Word, Excel & Outlook) & must be comfortable using spreadsheets with formulas
-Able to learn quickly & thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment
-Strong organizational skills, able to problem solve, multi-task & prioritize
-Have a positive attitude & willingness to pitch-in where required
-Able to maintain the strictest level of client confidentiality
-Understanding of legal terminology, legal documents & court processes and experience with integrated client management systems (ie. PC Law) will be considered an asset

Real Estate Legal Assistant Specific Responsibilities:
-Assist our lawyers with managing real estate transactions; ensuring all paperwork, deadlines & compliance requirements are met
-Preparing & reviewing various documents, conducting title searches, preparing & submitting transfers/registrations at ISC, requesting tax certificates, preparing a Statement of Adjustments, etc.
-Maintaining & organizing client files
-Communicating with clients, real estate agents, lawyers, & other parties involved
