Description

The City of Weyburn Leisure Services Department is offering an exciting summer employment opportunity for ten (10) individuals. The City of Weyburn is hiring Inclusive Program Facilitators who may be assigned to either the Spark Camp or the Summer Funzone Day Camp. These roles are essential to the delivery of the Citys Summer Day Camps and provide an excellent opportunity to gain leadership and programming experience.

Responsibilities:
    Will provide one-on-one supervision, support and care for children with intellectual disabilities.
    Will work in conjunction with other City Program Facilitators to plan, co-ordinate and facilitate quality sport, culture and recreation activities.
    Ensures that all activities are designed and facilitated to meet the needs and abilities of the participants.
    Adhere to and follow staff policies, practices and procedures.
    Ensure safety and confidentiality of participants.
    Maintain required documentation, records and reports as required.
    Provide weekly reports, attend meetings and scheduled events within the workday.
    The primary role is to help children ages 6-12 years develop intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally by creating opportunities for planned and spontaneous play.
    Act as a positive role model at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
    Students hired must be at least 15 years of age or older, enrolled as a student at a secondary or post-secondary school or institution.
    Experience with people who have intellectual disabilities preferred.
    Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED.
    Recreational background.
    Belief in Inclusion and respect for children with diverse needs.
