Overview:
The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority employs 270 people to serve the needs of 1,300 students and their families.
ADEA is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct teacher performance evaluations for 20 or more teachers between March 15 and May 15, 2025. These evaluations will be based on best practices in instructional assessment, with a preference for the Danielson Framework for Teaching or a comparable research-based evaluation model.
An understanding and respect for Denesuline culture, language, and traditions is essential to this role. The selected contractor will be expected to evaluate teaching practices through a culturally responsive lens.
Scope of Work:
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
Conducting performance evaluations for 20 or more teachers across four schools
Utilizing the Danielson Framework for Teaching (or an equivalent model) to assess:
o Instructional practices
o Classroom management
o Professional responsibilities
o Student engagement
Ensuring that evaluations reflect culturally relevant pedagogy and the integration of Denesuline language, history, and traditions in the classroom.
Observing teachers in classroom settings, providing constructive, culturally responsive feedback, and engaging in discussions with school leadership to inform the evaluations
Preparing written reports for each teacher.
Conducting all evaluations with professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality.
