The File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council is a non-profit organization that provides a range of programs and services to 11 First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.
The Nursing Students employed will work as part of the All-Nations Healing Hospital and First Nations Health Services team within the All Nations Healing Hospital located in Fort QuAppelle, SK. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a unique nursing experience within an integrated health care setting.
We are offering summer employment for two (2) third year nursing clinical assistant students who will gain valuable experience working with health professionals in a variety of areas including acute care, dialysis, home and community care, diabetes education and nutritional services. Responsibilities may include provision of direct patient care under supervision, health education and health promotion activities.
It is a requirement for employees of the File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council, to complete training in Cultural Orientation and Trauma Informed Care and to provide a current criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
The students must possess the following:
Completion of the third year of a recognized nursing program.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to communicate well, both oral and written.
Willing to take direction and work independently.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess a valid drivers license and clean CPIC
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work within First Nations Traditional and Spiritual Institutes.
Ability to provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
High emotional intelligence and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict.
