This position is responsible to provide planning, organizing and implementing support, coordination, direction and facilitation of sports, culture, youth and recreation activities or programming to Beardys & Okemasis Cree Nation (BOCN) membership. You will liaise with provincial governing bodies and other organizations related to sport, culture, and recreation. This position will also provide specific assistance for the Tony Cote First Nations Summer/Winter games and for Team Saskatchewan North American Indigenous Games, compile briefing notes and reports as required. You will be the main representative/proxy for BOCN, that sits on the FSIN Sport, Culture, Youth & Recreation Board. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the SCYR Director will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing the safety and security of all infrastructure, buildings and property operated by sports, culture and recreation.
Manage budget and work plans
Work with interagency to maximize partnerships
Coordinate and schedule activities, events and tournaments.
Chef De Mission for Team Beardys & Okemasis Cree Nation for all FSIN youth related sporting events.
Managing a team of staff, volunteers, coaches, chaperones.
Coordinate, develop and maintain a working policy and procedures manual for the SCYR program.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Sports administration or a related field; or a college diploma in recreation management and/or sports administration; business administration.
3+ years proven work experience or progressive leadership experience in a related field will be considered.
Financial program coordination experience is an asset.
REQUIREMENTS:
Class 5 drivers license
First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
