Job Summary:
CRCEC is seeking a dedicated and organized School Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be essential in preparing nutritious meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about cooking and contributing to the well-being of children and the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals for students and staff according to daily menu plans.
Plan and adjust meal portions to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, or special needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, meeting all health and safety regulations.
Follow safe food handling practices, including properly storing and labelling ingredients and prepared food.
Order and manage inventory of food and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Coordinate with school administrators regarding meal schedules and nutritional guidelines.
Perform daily cleanup of kitchen equipment, tools, and dining areas.
Adhere to budget guidelines for meal preparation and food purchasing.
Assist with special events requiring food preparation, such as school fundraisers or community events.

Requirements:
Education: Grade 12 or equivalent (GED).
Certification: Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate (required).
Experience: Previous cooking or food preparation experience is an asset but not required.
Ability to remain on feet for long periods and handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict meal schedules.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with school staff and administration.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
