Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment, including construction and commercial equipment, heavy trucks and automotive vehicles; ensuring projects are carried out meticulously, while meeting all budget and time constraints. -Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
-Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician.
-Valid Class 5 drivers license.
-Strong dedication to safety.
-Strong interpersonal and communications skills of written, verbal and computer.
-Must be a team player willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
-Effective communication skills: must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, report progress or issues to supervision.
-Have good judgment and ability to make decisions.
-Understanding of the various equipment product lines will be considered an asset; CAT, JD, Cummins, JLG, Doosan, Toyota, Freightliner, and Mack.
-Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset.
-Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be preferred.
-Experience with any of the following: CAT SIS (Service Information System), CAT INSPECT, CAT ET, JD Link, Service Advisor, Cummins Quick Serve, NED/NAVISTAR, and JLG Mobile Intelligence.
