These appointments are located at Athabasca Home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This program offers planned respite services. The purpose of respite is to maintain the health and well-being of the individual, their care provider and/or family by providing temporary support.
In this role, you will support individuals and provide quality person-centered services. Your hands on work and engagement with the individual is conducted in a learning and supportive manner and utilizes your effective communication, positive role modeling, patience, adaptability, leadership, and organization.
CLSD, Crisis and Respite Services value their employees and the work they do. To assist them we provide a thorough onboarding that includes safety training required for the position.
Typically, the level of knowledge and skills for this position is obtained through 1-year post-secondary education in a related human service field such as Disability Support Worker, Psychology or Social Work and/or gained through related experience working in a therapeutic capacity with people with intellectual disabilities who may display complex and challenging behaviours.
