Reporting to the MLCN Chief and Council, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nations Administration and Operations. Serving as the primary conduit between governance and administration, the CEO ensures that the Nations strategic vision, mission, and objectives are achieved.
The CEO provides strong governance support by ensuring that policies, processes, and decisions made by Chief and Council are effectively implemented and aligned with the Nations long-term strategic priorities. With a focus on sustainable growth and effective governance, the CEO provides oversight of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and fosters collaboration with key committees, including the Treaty Land Entitlement Trust, 1919 Soldiers Settlement Trust Advisory Group, Lands Advisory Authority, and others as assigned.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guide and implement a strategic direction that promotes sustainable growth and aligns with the Nations values and priorities;
Collaborate with Chief and Council to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)and evaluate the progress of long-term strategies, goals, and policies;
Serve as a trusted advisor to Chief and Council, providing informed recommendations for decision-making and ensure seamless communication and execution of directives;
Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks;
Regularly evaluate organizational structure and recommend revisions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
Support the Inherent and Treaty Self-Government team in their ongoing progress towards achieving self-government for Muskeg Lake Cree Nation;
Actively participate in the Kotowan Advisory Committee, providing leadership and insight to advance key priorities;
