Description

Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is seeking a vibrant and compassionate individual to fill the role of Family Enhancement Coordinator.  The successful candidate will take a leadership role in the research, planning, development, coordination and implementation of comprehensive family focused programs that promote healthy children, youth and family development. This position will ensure a coordinated approach by working with all departments within Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. Through consultation and evaluation, strength-based activities will be planned, taking into consideration the foundation of the Cree Laws and Values established by Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Adhere to MLCN Human Resources Policy;
    Always maintain strict confidentiality;
    Promote the kotawn prevention program to community membership as opportunities arise;
    Communicate with community members to ensure they are aware of the programming offered, encourage participation and feedback;
    Research appropriate programs for implementation taking into consideration the wholistic medicine wheel approach to wellness;
    As a team member support referrals to housing first initiatives and assist in filing in applications if required;
    Provide age-appropriate programming to educate children and youth on daily life skills;
    Support the development of culturally based projects and activities that are land based;
    Link and support all children/youth to attend activities in community pertaining to their age;
    Focus on family-oriented programming that supports effective communication and strengthens family bonds;
    Facilitate planning processes, schedule activities, facilities and support staff as needed;
    Supervise program activities and ensure safety policies and procedures are in place and followed;
    Have an awareness pertaining to the safety of the child/youth and report issues to the appropriate authority as per the Duty to Report protocol;
