The Public Guardian and Trustee of Saskatchewan (PGT) is seeking a confident, highly motivated and well-organized individual with supervisory experience for a challenging supervisor position in the Children and Youth Services (CYS) unit. The Children and Youth Services unit is responsible for the protection of legal and financial interests of children and youth under the age of 18.
The successful candidate must have experience developing policies and procedures within the government and involvement in strategic planning and training for a work unit. You will also bring leadership and team building skills to the position.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices with a working knowledge of trust investments is critical to this position. You will also have knowledge of basic government structure, the legal system and processes, operations, policies and procedures.
The position involves a substantive understanding of estate and trust law as well as legal rules related to guardianship of a child or youth. You must have an ability to understand and interpret Acts, Regulations policies and procedures along with the ability to provide clear, concise and accurate information and explanations verbally and in writing. Your ability to think creatively when solving unique issues and problems will serve you well in this position.
You must have knowledge of computer applications such as email word processing, spreadsheet software and experience with databases.
The knowledge and skills for this position would typically be obtained through several years of relevant experience in estate and trust law supplemented with relevant supervisory experience.
