Description

The City of Moose Jaw has openings for Temporary Labourers and Truck Drivers.  Under the direction of Supervisors of Public Works & Utilities, these positions are responsible for front line administration and delivery of municipal recreation programs.

These positions will perform the following duties:
-    Perform various unskilled duties related to City projects including construction, repair and maintenance of sewer, water and wastewater systems, streets, lanes, sidewalks, solid waste etc.
-    Perform heavy manual labour in assisting with the excavation and backfilling of holes, ditches, shovelling, meter collection, Potholes repair. etc.
-    Perform various seasonal work such as shovelling sidewalk, snow, spreading gravel, acting as a helper on paving, oiling, patching work, etc.
-    Operate various power equipment required for the completion of assigned duties.
-    Operate a City vehicle for the purpose of transporting employees and equipment to work sites.

Qualified applicants will possess:
-    Valid Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement and eligible for coverage under the City's insurance policy (Truck Drivers)
-    Valid Class 5 driver's license and eligible for coverage under the Citys insurance policy (Labourers)
-    Physical ability to perform heavy manual labour which includes lifting up to 50 lbs.
-    Ability to work in a harmonious manner with supervisors, co-workers and the general public.

These positions will perform mostly labour duties but could entail truck driving duties when available.
