Description

The Ministry of Highways, Traffic Guidance Operations, is seeking five (5) organized and motivated Pavement Marking Surveyors for the Provincial Pavement Marking Operation. These positions are seasonal positions that are subject to layoff each fall and recall each spring and are located in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Yorkton, Regina, and Swift Current. Reporting to the Crew Lead, you will be responsible for surveying and pre-marking sections of the highway within your assigned geographical area.

In this position, you will be responsible to:

- Apply pavement pre-marks (guide marks) to the road surface for striping and pavement sign activities, utilizing pavement marking plans, Ministry GIS database, and Ministry standards.
- Supervise staff and will be required to plan and organize a complex workload recognizing you may need to shift plans in order to accommodate construction.
- Install passing zones by assessing vertical and horizontal curves and roadside hazards while complying with Ministry standards; and more!

To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will:

- Possess either a Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma, a Geomatics Engineering Diploma, or an
- Engineering Degree, or a combination of education and several years of experience.
- Hold a valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Provide a current driver abstract (this is also an annual requirement).
- Have the physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
