Job Summary: The Maternal Child Health/FASD Supervisor will work under the general guidance and direction of the Community Health Manager. This role includes ensuring that the mandate, goals and objectives of both the Maternal Child Health and the FASD Programs are met. This supervisory position provides direct and functional supervision to the staff in these programs. This position provides services to high risk families and children with a multi-disciplinary team approach.
Job Skills:
Provide supervision and direction to the staff in the program
To manage the case load and assign clients to team members based on need and expertise
To provide case management and review of clients and families within the program.
Make appropriate internal and external referrals to agencies as deemed appropriate
To carry a caseload of hi risk prenatals and families which require nursing expertise
Develop a comprehensive documentation system for client and family records and ensure all staff members
Are familiar with and skilled at using it.
Keep daily statistics as outline in the monthly reporting system and ensure that it collects information that is required for annual reporting on both programs
Participate in regional working groups as it relates to MCH or to FASD. Participate in the Maternal Child Health Regional Advisory Group and the FASD Regional Advisory Group
Job Qualifications:
Degree in Nursing preferred
Must have supervisory experience
Experience in the area of maternal child health
Experience working with First Nations People
Currently registered and in good standing with the licensing body
Current CPR
Valid Drivers License and Drivers Abstract, clear C
