Our Payroll Officers deliver timely and accurate full-cycle payroll services for 3sHealth and the Saskatchewan health system, which includes:
-Accurately prepare and process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely disbursement;
-Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in job titles, assignments, employment status, salaries, and deductions;
-Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally;
-Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and territorial payroll regulations, collective agreements, and company policies;
-Complete year-end processing, including T4 preparation;
-Prepare and distribute ad hoc and standard payroll reports, including time and earnings, accruals, payroll audits, remittances, and monthly reports;
-Coordinate with the benefits team to ensure accurate deductions and contributions for employee benefits;
-Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information at all times; and
-Partner with human resources and finance teams to continuously improve processes and support organizational initiatives.
To excel in this role, you will have payroll experience, high attention to detail, and a strong commitment to client service. This is a one-year, temporary opportunity with the possibility of extension.
Required Qualifications
-Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the National Payroll Institute, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems, such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
-Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role, with a minimum of one year of experience
-Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws in Canada
-Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., HRIS, Oracle)
-Excellent attention to detail, multitasking, and organizational skills
