Job Responsibilities
Identify cultural interests, experiences and priorities of Muskoday families
Assess current and potential cultural resources and activities available to support families
Develop annual cultural activities work plan that contributes to Department objectives
Manage and report on program activities and expenditures
Facilitate and/or coordinate cultural activities that build broader resilience in the community
Knowledge
Knowledge
Background in human services, culture, history, or spirituality is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, ceremonies, history and life pathways.
Understanding of the role culture can play in family development and resilience.
Skills
Demonstrable skills in assessing cultural needs, values and interests of Indigenous peoples.
Experience coordinating community events, activities and functions.
Skills in nurturing collaboration across multiple human service sectors.
Can effectively mobilize multiple components/sectors of a community.
Ability to support and foster inclusion of multiple cultural identities.
Strong coordination, planning and multi-tasking skills.
Abilities
Strong writing abilities and communication skill sets.
Strength in work plan development and program reporting.
Able to balance high-level community interests with individual community member needs.
Proven ability to develop rapport with vulnerable individuals and families.
