Description

SaskCulture is looking for a full-time Communications Assistant. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with interest and ideally some experience, in entry-level communications, such as experience working on newsletters, websites and social media.

Reporting to SaskCultures Communications Manager, responsibilities of this position include:
    Writing, formatting, and distributing various online communication initiatives, such as the bi-weekly E-Update;
    Monitoring, publishing, and reporting on various social media channels;
    Updating and supporting SaskCultures website;
    Providing support to various SaskCulture events and initiatives, such as Culture Days and Creative Kids;
    Maintaining and coordinating the external and internal requests for promotional items;
    Assisting in general correspondence and file maintenance; and
    General administration of other office and communication duties as needed.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be acquired through post-secondary education in the areas of communication and/or business administration, or a combination of relevant training and experience.  The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the English language, both written and verbal, along with knowledge of file management, computer use, and basic graphic design using tools such as Canva. Experience working in a non-profit organization, with knowledge of the Saskatchewan arts and culture community, is considered an asset.
