Description

Reporting to the Director of Family Wellness the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for overseeing delivery/coordination of Wellness Centre services. This position supervises and provides prevention programming, assessment, intervention, treatment, follow-up, and aftercare.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervises the development, implementation, monitoring of educational programming
- Administers, monitors, and reports on Wellness program activities.
- Create, implement and evaluate mental health strategies with the support of the Health Services and community partners to improve awareness.
- Coordinate/assists access to treatment by liaising with treatment centers, acute care sites, and traditional healers.
- Develops proposals and solicits external funding, identifying and securing grants and community funding
- Establish a crisis response team for the community.
- Supervision of the existing Wellness staff
- In conjunction with the Health Services, evaluates program success and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Other assigned duties as required

QUALFICATIONS

- Diploma or certificate in Addictions from a recognized institution or a combination of education and experience would be an asset
- Related work experience
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, written and verbal skills
- Advanced computer knowledge
- Knowledge of the First Nation Culture, Traditions and Practices
- Be required to participate in continued accreditation training and/or workshops
- Willing and able to travel
- Healthy lifestyle
- CPIC and Vulnerable sector to be completed annually.
