Description

The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM), an organization that represents and advocates on behalf of rural municipalities (RMs) in Saskatchewan, seeks a Policy Analyst passionate about agriculture. We're looking for someone eager to support RMs and drive change through strong advocacy and strategic policy development.
This role suits a strategic thinker who excels in fast-paced environments. You'll tackle diverse responsibilities, adapt to shifting priorities, and anticipate change. We need a creative problem-solver who can juggle a variety of tasks and build relationships to drive positive change for RMs.
Skills & Abilities:
Analyze legislation affecting RMs
Develop policy positions on diverse topics
Represent SARM in government consultations and committees
Prepare reports, position papers, and correspondence
Research trends and provide advisory support
Manage projects aligned with SARM's objectives
Engage with SARM executive, members, officials, and stakeholders
Stay current on rural municipal trends
Collaborate with communications department
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in agriculture, political science, public policy, economics, or related field
3-5 years in policy development, government relations, or non-profit
Equivalent combination of training, certification & experience considered
Strong understanding of Saskatchewan agriculture & rural issues
Excellent analytical, communication, project management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Agricultural or municipal government experience asset
Familiarity with boards & elected officials beneficial
Knowledge of government processes asset
