Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations the Director of Health is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily operations, developments, management and overall administration of all Health and Wellness Centers programs and services.   Including programs, projects and initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of all members of the Nation.  
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Health and Wellness Centre
Oversee the development, implementation and reporting for the George Gordon First Nation Health and Administration plan
Work closely with the Accreditation coordinator to ensure success
Responsible to ensure the financial management, reporting requirements, planning is completed and on budget
Participate in setting staffing requirements and ensuring that program work-plans are developed and implemented
Collaborate with other departments in the First Nation to ensure all programming is supporting the mission and vision of George Gordon Frist Nation
Negotiate contract and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers.
Other assigned duties as required
QUALFICIATIONS
Degree in Health Sciences or equivalent, a combination of education and experience may be considered
A minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in a management role
Knowledge of all Federal and Provincial legislation and regulations, including but not limited to Health Canada and First Nation Inuit Health Branch
Knowledge of public and federal policies that apply to First Nations
Excellent written and oral communications skills, as well as organizational and time management skills.
Strong Computer Skills
Possess a Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Acceptable Police Enhancement Check (CPIC)
