Red Pheasant Cree Nation (RPCN) is seeking a new addition to the finance team! The successful candidate will be part of the RPCN Finance Department, reporting to the Finance Manager. They will be primarily responsible for processing all accounting for the Education Department, adhering to agreements, all financial reporting, and submissions for RPCN Education finances. They will assist the Director of Education in the development of education financial policies, procedures, contracts, and human resources in alliance with Band Policies.
This position includes working within the RPCN finance department as part of the team, working with the Director and Principal on all financial matters, the Post-Secondary Coordinator on related financial matters, Headstart and Daycare funding and finances, and participating in human resources services for these areas.
They will have obtained a minimum of 3 years post-secondary education in finance, preferably holding a bachelors degree in accounting and have 3 or more years working in a finance department. They will report to the Director of Education. The successful candidate will ensure all financial transactions are processed on time, adhering to the financial policies and procedures established by RPCN and the Education Department.
Knowledge of RPCN and First Nations culture and language is a definite asset for all applicants. Successful candidates selected for interview will have their experience with First Nations stated in their cover letter. In addition, familiarity with Xyntax is an asset but not necessary.
