GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY As a member of the Quality, Safety and Strategy management team the Provincial Manager Patient and Staff Safety is responsible and accountable for supervising the daily organization and administration of the Patient and Staff Safety unit.
The Provincial Manager Patient and Staff Safety provides program leadership and supervision of patient and staff safety within the Agency. This responsibility includes occupational health and safety (OH&S), emergency preparedness and management (EP), infection prevention and control (IPC), and employee health and wellness ensuring due diligence and keeping the Director and other Senior and Executive Leadership fully apprised of compliance requirements, case law and best practices. The manager ensures accountability measures are established and outcomes of services are measured and evaluated.
The Manager is expected to act in the absence of the Director, as delegated.
MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- As a member of the Quality, Safety and Strategy Management Team, contributes to the development of the Agency strategic and operational plans with measurable targets, and executes the plans that are the responsibility of the Manager. Delivers clear direction and the appropriate level of support (e.g. systems, processes, resources, and guidance) to staff in the implementation of Agency plans. Implements Patient-First methodology in accordance with Agency plans of better health, better care, better teams, and better value.
