Description

Rooted Connections is seeking compassionate, organized, and dedicated individuals to join our Newcomer Intensive Family Support Program. This vital program helps newcomer families in Regina overcome the complex barriers they face while settling into their new lives, including isolation, family conflict, racism, substance use, mental health issues, and trauma. As a Family Support Worker, you will provide essential in-home case management support, empowering families to build independence, wellness, and confidence in their new environment. The program aims to reduce these risks and help families access support services. Your role will involve addressing these social complexities and connecting families to community resources. The goal is to help families develop long-term plans for success, focusing on mental health, substance use, trauma recovery, family dynamics, and overall stability.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-home case management to address challenges such as mental health issues, substance use, trauma, and family conflict.
Connect families to both formal and informal support networks, promoting social inclusion and resilience.
Help families develop individualized plans to improve family stability and positive settlement outcomes.
Provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care and support.

Qualifications:
Degree in Human Services (e.g., Social Work, Psychology) or equivalent experience in client services.
Experience working with families facing mental health issues, substance use, trauma, or complex family dynamics.
Understanding of the barriers faced by newcomers, particularly related to settlement, mental health, and addiction.
Strong case management and crisis intervention skills.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
