Reporting to the Deputy Director, Operations/CFO, and serving as an integral member of the senior administrative team, the Communications Supervisor is responsible for the development of the divisions communication strategy and will contribute to the organizational strategic planning process and provide communication to support organizational initiatives and priorities.
What will make you successful:
A university degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
Masters degree in a related field would be an asset.
Minimum five years of progressive experience in communications and public relations.
Advanced ability and knowledge of a broad array of technology applications, including InDesign, School Messenger, website content management, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PhotoShop, Desktop Publishing and online applications (survey tools, social media, etc.).
A foundational understanding of school division operations, including educational programming, support services, Board operations, legislation and stakeholder/partner roles and relationships.
Extensive experience in developing, writing and coordinating communications/media relations materials including graphic design, print design and production; and maintaining website services.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Excellent proofreading, writing and copy-editing skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.

Current salary range: $114,566 to $131,458 (salary indexing to be provided supplementary to the current range)
