History & Indigenous Studies Teacher - HISTO001029-00009

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The teaching assignment will include History and Indigenous Studies Saskatchewan Core Curriculum with outcomes based on the themes of Self-Determination and Self-Government, Development, Social Justice, Aboriginal and Treaty Rights, Land Claims and Treaty Entitlements, and Economic Development.

Experience in Secondary Social Science or History education, online teaching or online program supervision would be considered an asset.

- innovation and creativity to support students achieving learning outcomes in a variety of approaches that fit student needs and interests;
- the ability to communicate effectively with parents on student educational needs and progress;
- strong time management and organizational abilities;
- flexibility with the capacity to problem solve;
- strengths in collegiality and collaboration;
- the ability to communicate clear and effective feedback on student progress;
- collaboration with colleagues on course development;
- knowledge of curriculum outcomes and indicators;
- current instruction and assessment practices; and
- commitment to work collaboratively with all staff to carry out the mission and vision of Sask DLC.

Experience with technologies such as Clevr, Moodle, MySchoolSask, and online communication software would be considered an asset.
