The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Danielson Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program.
As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings and grounds. You will operate light to heavy equipment. You will also assist with maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds. In addition, you will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water systems and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor.
This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment. You must comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, and TDG. You must possess a valid Drivers License. This position is required to work weekends and possibly evenings on a rotating schedule.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair. You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.
The successful candidate will have experience and ability to perform building and/or park maintenance, using common hand tools and light equipment. You will have the ability to identify problems, consider various options and determine appropriate course of action, physically perform tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving supplies and equipment such as picnic tables and cleaning supplies and pumps.
