Description

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety's Provincial Protective Services (PPS) Branch is seeking an Audit and Compliance Analyst for a two (2) year term, to support the Policy Unit in the Provincial Protective Services Branch.

Reporting to the Manager, Operational Policy for PPS Enforcement Support Services, this position is responsible for advancing and supporting the PPS Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) accreditation process to meet the needs of the ministry and the expectations of Saskatchewan residents.

The Ideal Candidate will have knowledge of:

- Law enforcement-related techniques, policies and reporting objectives.
- CALEA accreditation process.
- Policy development, evaluation, monitoring, continuous improvement, and change management practices/processes.
- PowerDMS policy management software.
- Various research methodologies, law enforcement challenges, philosophies, practices and trends (national and international).
- Communication, collaboration, negotiation, and relationship-building.
- Time management, addressing ad hoc requests, and adapting to fluid deadlines.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies required for this position would be obtained through:

- A bachelor's degree or diploma in social science, police science, criminal justice, public administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous auditing, planning, and policy development experience is considered an asset.
