Responsible for all maintenance of buildings & grounds including lawn care & snow removal. Undertake minor building repairs, painting, replace fuses, light bulbs, minor appliance repair etc. Maintain a preventative maintenance program on water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners etc. Identify the need for major repairs or new equipment for budget planning & prepare reports for estimated costs. Organize and monitor contractors when requires. Make sure all vehicles/equipment are maintained (booking oil changes, repairs & tire maintenance).
Whenever possible, include Handi-Works Participants to help with ground maintenance & small repairs. Coaching someone to learn a new life skill is a unique and rewarding part of this position. Will be requires to assist as a Day Program Workshop Supervisor when maintenance duties are completed.
Must have a minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience in all aspects of building maintenance & preferably experience in one of the major trades. Must be able to use hand & power tools, operate equipment & be forklift certified. Ability to work independently & demonstrate initiative, reliability and good judgement. Recognition of and respect for people's diversity & individual differences.
Must have a valid Sask. Class 5 Drivers license & provide a Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
*Wages and benefits will be paid according to the CUPE Local 3370 Agreement.
