Description

The Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce has an opportunity for a student interested in business to learn, grow their professional skills, earn summer income, and contribute to the overall success of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce in supporting the business community in Southwest Saskatchewan. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated, curious, dedicated and interested in learning about a wide range of businesses, constituents, not-for-profits, community groups, and elected leaders while working within a board-governed structure.  
If you are the successful Summer Student candidate, you will gain invaluable experience working in a professional and dynamic environment supporting all types of business. You will be assigned an important project during your term that you will see through to completion, in addition to supporting with the planning and execution of regular Chamber business and activities. The project will afford you the opportunity to network with all Chamber member businesses. This allows for an on-the-ground introduction to segments including but not limited to: Retail, Professional services, Agriculture, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Create a plan to meet with the majority of the approximately 400 member businesses, gathering feedback to inform decision making and direction for the Chamber and submit for approval.
Meet with the member businesses and gather feedback and insights.
Organize and analyze the information collected and present it to the board and staff with any insights gleaned through the activity.
Be a liaison between our member businesses and the Chamber Board & Staff through the above noted activities.
Positively represent the Chamber within the community when attending community events and supporting partner and member initiatives.
Any additional duties as assigned.
