Sturgeon Lake Child and Family Services is now accepting applications for a full time Awasisak Lead Support Worker at the Awasisak Wekiwahk Childrens Home. This position is shift work based on 24 hours, which will consist of morning, evening and nights.
Summarized Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate and assist with the planning and implementation of activities, cultural and recreational programs.
- Participate in ongoing evaluations of programs.
- The ability to schedule staffing, casual call ins and submission of timesheets and leave requests etc.
- Knowledge of the standards of care Residential Services Manual and Customary Standards of care
- Ensures that nutritional needs, physical and emotional needs of the children are met.
- Ensure that specific daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties are completed.
Qualifications:
- Early childhood education certificate, diploma, or grade 12 with combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in supervising staff
- Ability to work in a crisis.
- Valid First Aid & CPR or willing to obtain.
- Valid class 5 drivers license
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
- Knowledge of Sturgeon Lake First Nations language and culture a definite asset
- Must undergo a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check (results of which may influence the decision to employ).
