Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is currently seeking an individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Buffalo Pound Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Park Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Park Maintenance Worker, this seasonal position will be involved in the sanitation maintenance program.

As a Park Sanitation Supervisor, you will be supervising the spiffy crew and be part of the team to ensure the facilities and the park are cleaned in compliance to current health regulations. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment. You must comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, and TDG. The successful candidate must possess a current valid Drivers License.  

The successful candidate will have experience and the ability to perform building and/or park maintenance, using common hand tools and light equipment. You will also have the ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a park team to complete work assignments and contribute towards a positive working environment.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities). Knowledge of safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair is beneficial. You will also have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations. You may have knowledge of Small Water Treatment and Distribution/Class 1 Water System.

The successful candidate must be available to work full-time on weekends and evenings from April to the October long weekend. This is not a student position.
