Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. In addition, and when necessary, you may work at our recreational sites located at Lovering Lake and Wood Mountain Historical Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program. This is not a summer student position. You must be able to work full-time evenings and weekends from April to September 30.

As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings, trails, and grounds. You will operate light-to-medium equipment such as light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying, and moving supplies and equipment. You will comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, and TDG. This position may be required to supervise staff.

The successful candidate will have experience and the ability to perform building and/or park maintenance, using common hand tools and light equipment.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment, and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance, and minor repair. You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.

The successful candidate must possess a current valid Drivers License and have a reliable vehicle.
