The Policy Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organized, detail orientated, and confident individual to be responsible for office support in a fast-paced work environment.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for the coordination and completion of a wide range of office administration activities, including:
- Preparing reports, correspondence, physical binders, and ebinders;
- Proofreading, editing, and formatting letters, memos, briefing notes, or cabinet documents;
- Providing feedback and coaching to the branch on editing and formatting requirements;
- Coordinating travel arrangements and meeting spaces for individuals within the branch; and more!
Our candidate of choice will be a flexible individual with a high attention to detail who also enjoys a challenging environment with diverse job expectations. As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Knowledge of SharePoint and workflow processes;
- Knowledge of office administrative procedures and practices;
- Knowledge and experience utilizing various computer software applications such as Microsoft Word,
- Outlook, Teams, along with invoicing or billing software;
- Knowledge of office filing and record retention procedures and systems, and
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, in order to respond to inquiries, provide clear and concise information, and develop a variety of documentation.
Typically, this knowledge would be gained through the completion of a certificate in office management/administration support and/or several years experience in an office environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this competition.
