Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess employment readiness of newcomer or immigrant participants of the project
Provide pre-employment services such as resume development, cover letters, interview coaching or preparation
Provide information of appropriate resources to clients as needed
Assess clients other needs such as short-term training and credential recognition
Orient newly hired participants to the workplace and support them to meet performance standards
Mentor individuals to build their confidence on-the-job and retain employment
Do regular follow up with participants to monitor progress of employment
Provide job retention supports
Build relationships with employer partners
Utilize strong cold-calling skills, labor market research, networking and a range of job development strategies
Participate in regular meetings with participants and employer partners
Complete monthly reports to be submitted to Executive Director
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings to accommodate program needs
QUALIFICATIONS
A university degree or college diploma in career counselling, social work or a related field
At least 2 years experience working with newcomers, immigrants and refugees
Strong knowledge of community resources  
Proficient computer skills
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and must have a reliable vehicle as this position requires to travel in the region
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Keen understanding of diversity issues and experience of working in multicultural settings
Fluency in second language/s is considered an asset
This is a 1.0 Full Time Term position (11 months with end date of December 31, 2025)
