The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
The Canadian Light Source is currently recruiting for a Scientific Publications Student Assistant within the Science Division. Reporting to the User Experience Lead, this position will be a casual position in which the successful student can work a maximum of ten hours per week, and the initial contract will run until August 29, 2025.
Representative Duties:
The successful student will be required to:
- Research publications that are missing from the CLSI database.
- Review submitted publications to ensure they are CLSI papers, and assign appropriate additional meta-data.
- Research historical Ph.D. and Masters theses.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program, preferably in the natural sciences or with an interest in data science.
- Demonstrable skills with internet search engines is a requirement.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
