Zagime Anishinabek Child & Family Wellness (CFW) is recruiting for the position of Post Majority Worker. This successful candidate will be under the direction of Director of Zagime Anishinabek CFW. The Post Majority will be responsible for working with Zagime Anishinabek, Little Bone, Shesheep and Minoahchak children and families. This newly created position is responsible for supporting the youth and young adults who are aging out of the care up to the age of 26 years. The Post Majority Worker will work in partnership with the aligning departments which include Prevention and First Nations Band Representative, in conjunction with accordance to the Provincial and Federal legislation, regulations, policies and recognized practice standards.
Skills & Abilities:
Support Post Majority young adults with resources to ensure smooth transition into adulthood with financial assistance.
Make sound decisions in complex software and hardware situations.
Exhibit strong organizational skills and maintain accurate case documentation.
Understand family dynamics and refer clients to appropriate resources.
Support clients in a fast-paced environment, using professional judgment and critical thinking.
Understand the MOU between Zagime Anishinabek and Yellow Thunderbird Lodge, as well as relevant child and family services agreements.
Assist Zagime Anishinabek children in care and their families, including those off-reserve.
Required Qualification(s):
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW) are required for the position.
Masters of Indigenous Social Work (MISW) or Masters of Social Work (MSW) are encouraged to apply.
Must submit a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
A drug test/screening may be required
Must be willing to travel, possess a Valid Drivers License and have a reliable vehicle.
