Description

POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director of the Prince Albert Grand Council Engineering, Technical Services and the Senior Utilities Trainer. The successful applicant is primarily responsible for assistance in developing instrumentation and control training material for First Nations operators in Saskatchewan, as well as troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems on First Nations water/wastewater facilities, educational facilities and other facilities. The position will be based in Prince Albert.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide instruction to operators regarding the proper operation and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems involved in water and wastewater treatment, collection and distribution as well as educational and other public facilities; Undertake and/or assist in the operation of facilities; Provide emergency assistance to correct equipment and system problems; Maintain effective working relations between the Prince Albert Grand Council, Chiefs and Councils, and staff and contracted employees.
QUALIFICATIONS: An understanding of operation and maintenance requirements of water and wastewater facilities; Must have a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License; Must be willing and able to travel extensively, by air, vehicle, boat, and snow machine throughout Northern Saskatchewan; Previous PLC programming experience would be an asset; Ability to work and communicate in a cross-cultural setting required; Grade 12 or GED 12 with a Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology; Ability to speak an official language of PAGC (Cree, Dene or Dakota) would be an asset.
