The Ministry of Corrections, Policingand Public Safety (CPPS)is responsible for overseeing Saskatchewan's correctional system and facilities, providing the safe and secure custody of adult and youth offenders and delivering programs that promote safety and reduce re-offending.
Prince Albert Correctional Centre is accepting applications for the permanent full-time Correctional Officer Eligibility List. This list will be used to fill vacancies which arise within the next 12 months.
Correctional Officersare professionals who work directly with adult offenders, holding them accountable and supporting positive change in their lives, while maintaining the safe and secure operation of the facility.
Typically, the requirements for success in this position are completion of a High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or experience/education in the social sciences, correctional services, or similar discipline.
Physical Requirements:
The COPAT requirement for employment has been temporarily replaced by a comprehensive medical evaluation completed by a licensed medical practitioner.
Should you receive a successful offer of employment, you will be enrolled into a paid 11 week Induction Training Program. The next ITP will be offered starting May 5, 2025.
Important information:
- Candidates will be placed on the eligibility list in order of service-wide seniority. Assessment and appointments will occur as vacancies arise.
- Appointments will be made from this eligibility list until the list expires in one year, or a new one is posted.
