Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, the cook is responsible for:
Creating nutritious menus for at least two weeks in advance and post them for parents and in the kitchen area
Keep work areas clean and orderly
Serve meals regularly and promptly
Follow the Canada Food Guide
Follow rotating menus and make changes with the Director
Do all the purchasing (food, supplies, etc.)
Keep inventory current and rotate all stock
Help Daycare in various capacities as the need arises (answer phones, supervising children etc.)
Housekeeping tasks in the kitchen area
Requirements

Food Safe Certification (required)
Recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check (required)
First AID/CPR (asset)
Successful candidate will be asked to complete certification upon hiring if not already obtained (cost of certification will be paid by Little Prairie Daycare ).
Proven ability to work closely with other team members
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid drivers license
Daycare Hours of Operation: M-F: 7:30am  5:30pm

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are able to assist in daily physical, emotional and intellectual developmental needs of children ages 18 months to 12 years! The successful candidates must enjoy working with children, be willing to work as part of a team and bring a positive attitude to the workplace.
