Grain Buyer Details:

Monday to Friday, Hybrid
3 weeks holiday
Benefits from day 1
Travel allowance
Up to $100,000 base salary
Competitive bonus compensation
Responsibilities:

Grow and maintain relationships with farmers, brokers, and processors
Negotiate and purchase grains such as lentils, peas, chickpeas, and more
Track grain grades, prices, and storage levels
Ensure timely delivery to destinations
Provide daily and weekly reports on bids, crop progress, and market trends
Qualifications:

Degree in Ag-Business (preferred)
At least 2 years of experience in grain buying with solid industry contacts
Proven ability to build relationships with farmers and grain elevators
Proficiency in grain purchasing, contract management, and software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Ability to travel within Canada (Western provinces) and occasionally abroad (less than 10%)
