Description

Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, this Labourer 2 full-time position carries out a variety of work necessary for the competition of the city's maintenance operations in the areas of city parks, recreation facilities, greenspace and other work as required.

Qualifications:
    Ability to operate power hand tools and light equipment (Eg. Small Tractor, Snow blower/sweep, skidsteer, ice re-surfacer, lawnmowers, weed eater, chainsaw, tree chipper etc.)
    Some knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in general construction and maintenance work.
    Demonstrated understanding of safety and safe work procedures.
    Must be capable of obtaining, understanding, and maintaining all necessary job-related training requirements.
    Ability to work safely, responsibly, and efficiently in all weather conditions.
    Ability to problem solve.
    Ability to be medically and physically able to perform all duties of the position in all weather conditions on an ongoing basis including lifting up to 50 pounds.
    Ability to communicate effectively and interact politely with the public.
    Ability to understand and implement complex oral and written instructions.
    Ability to be insured and maintain continuity under the Cities normal vehicle insurance policy (A drivers abstract may be requested)

Requirements:
    Possession of Valid Class 5 drivers License
    Certification in SCOT Training, Equipment Competencies on all required equipment, and First Aid/CPR which are provided by the city and required within the first year of employment.
    Class 3 license and Airbrakes Endorsement would be considered an asset
    Previous parks/arena operation experience would also be considered an asset.
