As one of the primary brand ambassadors at Gateway Co-operative, the role is instrumental to the customer service relationship and the enhancement of the overall customers experience.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service to all customers.
- Committed to health and safety by following all safe work procedures.
- Provide information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs of the customer.
- Assist with dispensing petroleum products.
- Assist with the daily upkeep of the department by stocking, cleaning, labelling or any other assigned duties.
- Participate in store merchandising activities such as building and resetting product displays.
- Provide information, assistance and excellent service to customers in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise in a friendly and courteous way.
- Any other duties needed to help to drive Gateway Co-ops vision and abide by our Co-operatives values of responsibility, respect and excellence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be over the age of 16 to be considered for position.
- Retail experience is an asset.
- Applicant must be able to work variety of shifts including mornings, afternoon, evening, weekend and on statutory holidays.
- Must have the demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including, but not limited to:
o ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift to 11.34 kgs. (25 pounds).
o lift boxes up to 22.67 kgs.(50 pounds) on an intermittent basis.
o ability to push/pull heavier loads over 22.67 kgs (50 pounds) with use of a pallet jack; ability to climb ladders.
o extended periods of standing; repetitive manual work and other physically demanding requirements.
- Must be able to work outdoors in different weather such as hot, cold and/or inclement weather.
