Description

Position Summary:
Zagim Anishinabek is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee HR functions
in alignment with the organization's values and strategic objectives. Reporting to the CFO, the HR
Manager will manage recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and policy
development while fostering a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead recruitment and onboarding processes.
Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Oversee payroll processing, including troubleshooting timecard issues, ensuring payroll completed on time via SonicEnterprise Manager.
Administer employee benefits, and recommend improvements based on community and employee needs.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR policies.
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
Develop and implement workforce strategies and employee development programs.
Create & maintain workplace culture that promotes equity, respect, inclusion, and aligns with Zagim Anishinabks traditions and values.
Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives to improve employee engagement.
Support community member engagement and cultural alignment.
Assist with any other HR projects as assigned by leadership, including preparing reports and other required documentation.

Qualifications:
Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
CPHR or CIHRP designation considered an asset.
Minimum 3 years of HR management experience, ideally within First Nations communities.
Experience with HR software (e.g., SonicEnterprise Manager, DocShare).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work in-office with remote flexibility.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
Successful completion of pre-employment substance testing and Criminal Record Check required.
