The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Provide liaison and advocacy with community members and front-line workers;
Provide individual, family and group addiction counselling and brief intervention;
By identifying community members strengths and skills to teach culturally relevant materials to other community members on request of services basis;
Assisting in debriefing sessions, community recovery and wellness initiatives;
Reviving the practice of using Elders to pass on their traditional teachings to children and youth;
Educate youth on the harms associated with drug and alcohol use;
Provide programming for healthy living, harm reduction and recovery to clients;
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in Addictions (Chemical Dependency), Mental Health & Wellness Diploma or related field;
Experience of 6 months to 2 years or more in the Addictions field;
