Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a term Cleaner position at the Library/Art Museum.  The term is expected to be 12-18 months.  Under the direction of the Facilities & Buildings Supervisor the Cleaner is responsible to perform various duties related to the cleaning of City facilities, such duties include:
-Vacuuming
-Dusting light fixtures, walls, bookshelves, books, counters
-Washing walls, doors and windows (inside & out)
-Sweeping, mopping, waxing and polishing floors
-Cleaning fixtures and bathrooms
-Emptying garbage
-Shampooing carpets, seats and chairs
-Ability to work with the public and co-workers in a tactful and courteous manner
-Responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding and abiding by the City of Moose Jaw Safety Policies, applicable Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety legislation as well as any other applicable regulatory standards
-Responsible for monitoring and inventorying various janitorial supplies
-May assist with snow removal and sanding as required
-Perform other facility and buildings related duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will possess:
-Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
-WHMIS Training and Certification to be completed within one (1) month
-Experience with and knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
-Ability to physically perform unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs
-Ability to pass respirator fit testing for both full and half face respirators
-Ability to work shift work, evenings and weekends
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Hours of work:
Friday-Monday 10:24am-7:00pm, Tuesday 2:24pm-11:00pm EDOs every 3rd Friday. This position also performs duties at the Cultural Centre. This is subject to change based on programming and operational requirement hours in this facility.
