Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Supervise the activities of service department shop workers
Maintain and distribute up-to-date service requirement information
Ensure completion of shop maintenance and repair work
Advise mechanics of work that must be completed
Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety problems
Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other units
Purchase order materials and supplies
Recommend personnel actions such as hiring
Operates a grader, backhoe, track loader, tandem and single axle truck and/or other equipment as required;
Operates any of the above equipment mentioned during possible extreme weather conditions;
Conducts general maintenance and manual labor functions for roads and O & M operations as assigned by the Band Manager (COO);
Must be able to handle moderate to heavy physical demands related to manual labor in construction and maintenance projects;
Education and Experience:
A) 3 to 5 years previous experience in O & M Management;
B) Core values of accountability, teamwork, time management, adaptability, critical thinking, decision making, planning and organizing, problem solving, leadership, organizational and environmental awareness;
C) Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License with minimum 1A endorsement;
D) Solid understanding of O & M construction and maintenance procedures;
E) Good understanding of all policy, procedures, by-laws, provincial guidelines, regulations and legislation related to the operation of equipment and O & M construction and maintenance;
F) Proven mechanical abilities in an industrial environment;
G) Ability to work independently and supervise staff
