Description

Are you an engineer looking to grow into the field of Process Safety.

What you will be doing:
-Supporting investigation of incidents and near misses
-Participating in the evaluation of risks and review of chemical processes
-Assist in the development of cost-effective engineering solutions to reduce or mitigate risks
-Development of training material and procedures in Process Safety Management
-Conducting data analysis

What youll be learning:
-How to identify hazards related to overpressure/underpressure; thermal expansion and brittle fracture; fire and explosion; human factors, toxic exposure, etc.
-Evaluation of risks from various hazards, both qualitatively and quantitatively
-Risk reduction methods thru administrative and engineering controls
-Engineering Standards and Practices
-Management Systems

Responsibilities:
-Support the Process Safety Manager in the implementation of Process Safety Management
-Coordinate, facilitate and participate in various hazard identifications and risk assessments
-Support of Safety Critical Measures and Management of Change programs
-Support the management of daily process operational risks thru our PSM program
-Support development of KPI's for monitoring and improving Orano's process safety performance

Skills and Qualifications:
-A university degree in Engineering
-Able to collect thorough and detailed data for analysis
-Strong computing skills with an ability to learn new programs
-Able to read technical and engineering drawings (e.g., P&IDs)
-Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
-Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
-Able to establish effective relationships with a variety of departments

Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake
-14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
